XDU held convocation to welcome 12,239 new students

XDU welcomes 12,239 new students for the 2025/2026 Academic Year

       Xidian University (XDU) held the Convocation on 6 September for the 2025/2026 academic year, welcoming 12,239 new students as they started their journey at XDU. XDU CPC Secretary Xiaolong Ren, XDU President Xinbo Gao, along with other major administrators attended the ceremony.

At the beginning of the Convocation, XDU held a Flag-Raising Ceremony. Then XDU CPC Secretary Xiaolong Ren helped the student representative to wear the emblem of the university.

President of the University, Professor Xinbo Gao delivered a speech titled Be the strivers who hold the torch and chase the light; and Become the outstanding Xidian people.  In his speech, Gao first extended a warm welcome to all the new students on behalf of the whole university. He then put forward expectations for all the new students when facing the proposition “What kind of Xidian people should one become on the great journey of the Great Rejuvenation of the Chinese Nation”. Gao expected the students to cultivate virtue and set aspirations; and he encouraged them to be diligent and vigorous in their studies and actions; he also wished that the new students can pursue diversified development to be well prepared for success.
