The School of Marxism of Xidian University is the base of teaching, research and talent cultivation of Marxist theory. Through the evolution of the Politics Teaching and Research Office, Ideological and Political Education Teaching and Research Office, Marxism and Leninism Teaching and Research Office, the Department of Social Sciences, and the Department of Civics and Political Science, the College of Marxism was officially established in November 2015, and was selected as one of the key colleges in Shaanxi Province in 2022 School of Marxism

The college undertakes the ideological and political theory courses for undergraduates, masters and doctoral students of the university, and has a master's degree authorization point of Marxist theory, where the basic principles of Marxism ideological and political education are considered as key disciplines at the provincial level. The basic structure of the institute is six teaching and research departments, our research institutes, one research center, and one social science popularization base. There are 15 teachers with senior titles, 34 teachers with deputy senior titles, 2 doctoral supervisors, 22 master's supervisors, 1 “Four Batch” talent from Shaanxi Province, 1 teacher enjoying the “Three Qin Talents” allowance, 1 member of the Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education 1 member of the Teaching Guidance Committee of the Ministry of Education, 1 master teacher of ideological and political theory course of the Ministry of Education, 1 excellent teacher of ideological and political theory course of Shaanxi Province, and 1 master teacher of ideological and political theory course of Shaanxi colleges and universities.

In recent years, the college has made remarkable achievements in scientific research, education and teaching, and personnel training. Teachers have presided over more than 50 projects at provincial and ministerial levels, such as the National Social Science Fund and the planning projects of the Ministry of Education, published more than 10 monographs in authoritative publishers such as People's Publishing House and Social Science Publishing House, and published more than 200 art papers in Philosophical Research, Guangming Daily and other important journals, and a number of them have been reprinted by Xinhua Wenzhi Digest, Academic Digest of Liberal Arts for Higher Education, and People's Congress Photocopying Materials; the results of the academic researches have been awarded the Outstanding Achievement Award of the Shaanxi Province The academic research results have been awarded by the government of Shaanxi Province and Xi'an Municipality for outstanding achievements in philosophy and social sciences. Teaching reform has won the second prize of National Teaching Achievement and the first prize of Excellent Teaching Achievement of Shaanxi Province (twice), which have been reported by CCTV, Xinhua News Agency, People's Daily and China Education News. The quality of postgraduate training is high, and the majority of them join the government, state-owned enterprises and other organizations as well as study for doctoral degrees. The discipline of Marxist Theory is ranked in the top 39% of the 180 universities on the 2019 Softech China Best Disciplines Ranking.
